“Money is not the root of all problems, but a lack of money is the root of all problems.”
‘Bollywood BFF’ Orhan Awatramani, aka Orry, has been chosen as the face of CRED’s Black Friday Sale this year.
Infamous as the confidant of many celebrities, Orry’s wit and self-motivational speeches have become the fodder for memes and have found a wide audience. They were soon strategically leveraged to endorse CRED’s Black Friday sale between November 25-27.
Orry took to Instagram to posts video of himself in action as he shares valuable lessons and materialistic wisdom in Hindi with his signature unapologetic style, complete with soothing music. “Everything is an illusion”, the caption of his posts reads.

Orry urges customers to buy products like Omega Seamaster, priced at Rs 9.20 lakhs, or the Nike Air Force 1 x Tiffany sneakers, priced at Rs 1.50 lakh, in order to drive the consumer market. His candor is infectious and convincing, aligning closely with CRED’s strategy of sending out enigmatic boxes to influencers containing hammers and wrenches, urging them to break away from the old and embrace the new with their Black Friday Sale.
However, while many followers were convinced, some pointed out how Orry’s video notably violates ASCI social media influencer rules. This is because it does not disclose that it was a paid collaboration, which may lead to misassumptions and misunderstandings by fans.
However, it appears that this problem has been fixed, as Orry’s Instagram post now has that disclaimer.
