Masoom Minawala’s #BudgetIndianDesigner Week is back!

Fashion creator and entrepreneur Masoom Minawala is back with her iconic #BudgetIndianDesigner Week that aims to shine a spotlight on local businesses.

“There came a point in my career where I got tired of creating content that spoke about me, my life, my fashion, and my opinions,” she said. “If I didn’t use this huge platform I had to make a difference to businesses and entrepreneurs, what was the point?”

The idea behind Masoom’s concept was simple: to garner recognition of millions of local businesses who great ideas but limited audiences through the power of social media. To that end, she has asked brands to tag themselves in the comments in order to get themselves featured by her this season.

Here are the categories:

  • Heavy/Festive Kurtas under INR 3000
  • Festive Sarees under INR 3000
  • Indowestern/Fusion Outfits under INR 8000
  • Predraped Sarees under INR 5000
  • Festive Gifting under INR 750
  • Festive Decor under INR 500
  • Shawls under INR 3000
  • Festive Jackets under INR 5000
  • Festive Bags under INR 2500
  • Festive Menswear under INR 3000
  • Festive Kidswear under INR 1500
  • Festive Jewellery under INR 1000
  • Navratri Outfits under INR 5000

Last year, Masoom’s initiative was a resounding success, driving up to 40 lakhs of sales for tiny businesses and generating a tremendous amount of viewership on social media. One hopes that this season will create just as much if not more of an impact.

“Here’s to bringing in another season of #BudgetIndian designers,” she said. “To creating more impact and fueling more dreams.”

Masoom’s announcement was met with delight by her 1.3 million+ followers and the fashion community of India at large.

“Masoom never fails to impress! You’re truly a blessing and an inspiration,” one user wrote.

Several local businesses have also already approached her to get featured this season, including Pastels and Pop, Desi Drapes and more.
