Microsoft has rolled out a new update that makes Skype completely ad free across all platforms, including channels and chat-lists.
“Our latest update removes all ads from Skype channels and the entire Skype platform, ensuring a smoother, decluttered and more enjoyable user experience,” said Skype product manager Irene Namuganyi.
The platform listened to feedback from users and has pledged to provide an ad-free experiences across all platforms, including mobile, macOS and Linux. While MSN articles accessed within Skype may still contain some ads, the general interface is now ad-free.
Thus, users will now be able to have ad-free channels, seamless conversations, and a user-centric design, considerably enhancing their overall experience on the app.
Alongside its ad-removal, Microsoft has also added some new features that will be sure to improve the quality of the app. This includes a new “AI image creation” tool, which allows users to generate images directly from the chat window and view them in an expanded format by clicking on them.
Additionally, Microsoft’s Skype update also brings several bug fixes that have been plaguing users for a while now. The platform has:
Fixed an issue where some users could not send media when connected to a 5G network.
Fixed the bug where users could hear the ringtone but were unable to pick up the call on iOS.
Fixed notifications not showing up for some mobile users.
They have also announced that users’ sign-in process will be much simpler and seamless across Microsoft apps with a new OneAuth integration in Skupe for iOS,
The new features and bug fixes will be rolling out gradually within the next couple of days.
