‘Made In India 2.0’: Sushant Divgikar aka Rani Ko-HE-Nur And Mayur Jumani Give A Modern Twist To Alisha Chinai’s Iconic Song

Mumbai, August 2024: Released in 1995, ‘Made In India’ became a cult classic song that made a special place in the hearts and minds of Indian citizens. With Alisha Chinai’s vocals featuring Milind Soman, the Indi-Pop song became an instant rage amongst the audience. The song’s charm and grace continue even after almost three decades, and reimagining it in the present era, Sushant Divgikar aka Rani Ko-HE-Nur and Mayur Jumani gave it a modern twist.

‘Made In India’ is a song closely etched in the core memory of the entire nation, always delivering a sense of nostalgia and a connection with our motherland, India. Closer to the occasion of India’s 78th Independence Day, Artiste (Actor and Singer) Sushant Divgikar aka Rani Ko-HE-Nur, and renowned Music Producer, Mayur Jumani collaborated to bring a fresh spin to the beloved track blending nostalgia with modern beats.

The reimagined version, ‘Made In India 2.0,’ showcases the power of Rani’s vocals as she sang in two voices- Male and Female, and Mayur’s infectious production style, creating an energetic melody that will resonate with today’s audience. The duo has skillfully maintained the essence of the original song while infusing it with a contemporary twist, making it a must-listen for music enthusiasts of all ages.

Sharing her thoughts on collaborating with Mayur, Sushant Divgikar aka Rani Ko-HE-Nur said, “It was such an amazing and exhilarating experience doing this with Mayur. The best part was the fact that we have similar pet peeves when it comes to delivering a content piece. From how the glasses were to be placed to how many times we (probably) unnecessarily took re-takes, it’s like he is my kumbh mein bichda hua bhai. I want to thank him for his kindness, the music he creates, and his beautiful heart. Can’t wait to make many more bangers with him and next time I have promised not to wear heels when I’m with him because I look much taller when I’m in the frame and if we stand.”

Expressing his thoughts on reimagining the song with Rani, Mayur said, “Working on ‘Made in India’ with Rani Ko-HE-Nur has been an incredible journey. We wanted to pay a tribute to the original Alisha Chinai’s song, while giving it our unique twist. The 90s were a golden era for Indian pop music, and we just want today’s generation to experience that too. I wanted to create my own version of the song to connect to the current audience and bring back fond memories while also introducing the magic of the song to a new generation.”
