McDonald’s India, operated by Westlife Foodworld, has introduced an exciting addition to its menu with the launch of Crispy Fried Chicken. In a strategic move aimed at strengthening its presence in the Southern market, the brand has enlisted the popular Kannada film star Kiccha Sudeep to headline their latest campaign.
The campaign, featuring a TV commercial conceptualized by the DDB Mudra Group, showcases Kiccha Sudeep savoring the delicious Crispy Fried Chicken. The TVC highlights the signature crispy texture of the product, making it an irresistible choice for chicken lovers.
The commercial kicks off with a humorous scene where police officers are questioning Kiccha Sudeep at his home, which looks a bit disheveled. As the officers jot down notes, they ask if there’s anything else to remember. Meanwhile, Kiccha Sudeep, unfazed by the situation, is seen enjoying McDonald’s Crispy Fried Chicken. A family member then chimes in, recalling the distinctive “crunch” sound from eating the chicken, and soon everyone is engaged in a lighthearted debate over the perfect crunch. The commercial wraps up with a mouth-watering close-up of the Crispy Fried Chicken bucket, leaving viewers craving a bite.
Arvind R.P., Chief Marketing Officer at McDonald’s India (W&S), expressed his enthusiasm for the new launch, stating, “We are constantly expanding our menu to cater to the preferences of our customers in the Southern markets. The introduction of Crispy Fried Chicken, along with our collaboration with Kiccha Sudeep, reinforces our commitment to offering diverse and delicious chicken options. Sudeep’s strong connection with the Southern audience will undoubtedly enhance consumer engagement and boost the popularity of our new offering.”
Kiccha Sudeep also shared his excitement about the partnership, saying, “I am thrilled to be a part of McDonald’s India (W&S) new Crispy Fried Chicken campaign. The brand has truly captured the essence of crunch and flavor in this product, and I’m eager for my fans and food enthusiasts across the South to try it. The Crispy Fried Chicken is bound to leave everyone hooked on its satisfying crunch.”
McDonald’s India has a history of successfully collaborating with South Indian film stars to strengthen its brand presence in the region. In addition to the current partnership with Kiccha Sudeep, the brand has previously teamed up with other well-known South Indian celebrities, including Rashmika Mandanna and Jr. NTR. These collaborations have played a crucial role in deepening McDonald’s connection with its Southern audience and increasing brand loyalty.
The new Crispy Fried Chicken is now available in McDonald’s restaurants across Southern India, offering customers a delightful new way to enjoy their favorite fast food.
