‘Time to start living your dream life.’
Barbie, the world’s most famous doll, now has her very own phone.
Launched by HMD, the company behind Nokia-branded phones, the new Barbie phone is a hot pink device with a classic flip design and sports a bold “Barbie” logo at the back, evoking thrill and nostalgia. It also comes with fun extras, including:
- Two extra back covers to choose from
- Beaded lanyard and attachable charms
- External display with a mirror
- Stickers and gems
- Comes in a jewelry box.
Barbie’s new phone the perfect follow-up to the 2023 Barbie movie that saw the entire world decked out in pink, crossing the $1.4 billion dollar mark.
“Open it up and everything on the screen feels like it’s straight out of The Barbie DreamHouse™,” HMD said.
No internet: Catching Waves, not WiFi
However, the Barbie-branded phone comes with no internet or social media apps. It is meant to harken back to simpler times and give your brain a break from endless scrolling, capitalizing on an emerging trend in recent years among the Gen Z population embracing so-called “dumb phones” which lack everything but the simplest of features.
According to HMD: “Nothing beats spending real time together. That’s what the HMD Barbie Phone is all about! No distracting apps here. It’s time to disconnect to reconnect.”

Despite this, the phone is not just meant to be aesthetically appealing. It can still make calls, send texts and has a 5-megapixel camera for taking perfect 2000s-era photos. While advanced social media apps like Instagram don’t exist on the phone, you can still make calls and text on WhatsApp.
The product is the result of a partnership with toy giant Mattel, which has produced and sold Barbie toys and accessories since 1959.
It launched in the UK on August 28th and is currently advertised as being sold for £99.99, with 64 MB RAM, 128 MB storage and a dual sim.
