Uber India debuts pet-friendly ‘Uber Pet’ services in Bengaluru, the internet reacts

“Let the road trips and tail wags begin!”

Uber India has just launched ‘Uber Pets’ in Bengaluru, allowing users to travel in taxis along with their pets.

According to Uber:

“Uber Pet is perfect for the growing number of pet owners seeking hassle-free transportation without leaving their pets behind. It also opens up new earning opportunities for drivers on our platform, creating a win-win for all.”

With this new pet-friendly service, Bengaluru residents will be able to book a ride with a cat or a dog, ensuring that they and their pets have a comfortable journey. Each ride will accommodate one pet, making it convenient for everyone. Uber has also assured users that drivers will be suitably informed regarding the same.

Uber Pet is exclusively available for pre-booking in the Uber app as a reserve-only option. Riders will be able to pre-book their rides from 60 minutes to up to 90 days in advance.

To book a pet-friendly trip, follow these straightforward steps:

  1. Open the Uber app and enter your destination in the ‘where to’ box.
  2. Select Uber Pet at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Set your pick-up time.
  4. Review booking details and tap confirm.

Uber’s bold new initiative comes at a time of intensifying competition with Ola, Namma Yatri and Rapido, which indicates that it is looking to expand its options and draw in more pet-friendly customers.

This news has been greeted with widespread enthusiasm on social media, with many praising Uber for its latest development.

“Maffu!! The cutest celebrity!!” a user wrote.

“Wow when does this start in Mumbai?” another asked.

“Superbbb!! Please come to Hyderabad soon,” another added.

The first-of-its-kind service is expected to expand to other cities soon.
