Tata Group is set to enter the quick commerce race with the launch of ‘Neu Flash’, an extension of its ecommerce platform Tata Neu, according to the Economic Times.
According to media reports, this will initially be rolled out to select users and cover groceries, electronics and fashion. It will gradually expand to a wider user base in the coming weeks.
Reportedly, Neu Flash will be powered by BigBasket for grocery deliveries, while electronics will be managed by Croma, and fashion and lifestyle products will be handled through Tata Cliq. With this strategic approach, the company will leverage existing Tata brands to provide quicker and more efficient service.
Additionally, media reports believe that Tata’s e-pharmacy venture, 1mg, which delivers medicines within hours in select regions of Delhi-NCR, may fully integrate into the Neu Flash platform.
This launch will mark Tata Group’s entry into the quick commerce race, which Zomato-owned Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart and Zepto currently dominate, indicating a highly competitive market.
This also signifies a shift of interest by industry giants towards the online retail landscape. Reportedly, quick commerce is rapidly outpacing modern retail chains, leading to a rise of platforms that promise quick delivery. Tata Group’s expected launch comes at the heels of Flipkart’s launch of its own quick commerce service, ‘Minutes’, as well as Reliance JioMart’s resuming the testing of its quick delivery service after discontinuing its 90-minute delivery JioMart Express.
