Influencers Face Backlash for Loud Music Stunt on Flight

Recently, Delhi-based social media personalities Varun Yadav and Aarush Bhola stirred controversy with their antics on a flight.

The duo shared an Instagram video where they played loud music through a Bluetooth speaker, garnering mixed reactions online. The video, which captured the incident at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, has since amassed over 15.6 million views but has faced significant criticism.

Many online users were quick to voice their disapproval, with one tagging the airline, SpiceJet, and questioning whether any action was being taken against the influencers. Comments ranged from calling their behaviour “public nuisance” to criticising their disregard for others’ comfort. A viewer remarked, “Content creation should not come at the cost of public peace.” Others highlighted the growing entitlement among influencers, questioning their tendency to disrupt public spaces for online fame.

This incident isn’t an isolated case of social media creators crossing boundaries. Earlier this year, a Hyderabad-based influencer, Vamshi, faced legal action for orchestrating a dramatic entry into a mall with bouncers and a briefcase. Authorities booked him under Section 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for causing public disturbance.

The rise of influencer culture has brought both creativity and controversy to the digital space. While many influencers use their platforms for positive impact, an increasing number of creators seem more focused on sensationalism. The chase for viral moments often prioritises shock value over meaningful content, raising questions about the ethical responsibilities of content creators.

As such behaviour becomes more common, it underscores the need for a cultural shift within the influencer community. By promoting content that respects public spaces and fosters meaningful engagement, creators can reclaim their role as positive role models in the digital age
