Coca-Cola, the world’s leading beverage company, has announced its launch of a ready-to-drink cocktail containing Absolut Vodka & Sprite in partnership with Pernod Ricard.
The drink will be available in two versions with Sprite and Sprite Zero Sugar, and will be launched in select European countries by 2024, including the United Kingdom, Spain, the Netherlands and Germany.
Coca-Cola said: “As a total beverage company, we are committed to offering people more of the drink choices they want across a range of categories – for all occasions and lifestyles. We are strategically expanding in the alcohol ready-to-drink space. We take the responsibilities that come with our products in the alcohol ready-to-drink space very seriously as we grow our brands in a responsible and sustainable way.”
James Quincey, Chairman and CEO of The Coca‑Cola Company, said: “We keep consumers at the center of everything we do as we continue to develop our portfolio as a total beverage company, we are expanding in the alcohol ready-to-drink space, including products that use select brands from our core portfolio. We are excited about our new relationship with Pernod Ricard and look forward to the introduction of Absolut & Sprite.”
According to Coca-Cola, the packaging will feature two of the world’s most recognizable global trademarks and will include clear responsibility symbols emphasizing that it is to be had by consumers who are of legal drinking age. Similarly, it will follow responsible and legal marketing practices.
Absolut & Sprite joins a host of expanding alcoholic beverages in the company’s portfolio over the past few years, including last year’s memorable Jack-and-Coke cocktail in a can. With the already-existing popularity of Vodka as an alcoholic beverage and Sprite as a soft drink, this new launch will be sure to make waves in the market.
