The government of Maharashtra has announced that advertisements can be shot on government-owned land at no charge.
Via a government resolution (GR) issued on Saturday, they explained the motivation behind their decision and emphasized how it would convey a positive message, underscoring the state’s support for film production. This also includes other type of content like ads, documentaries and TV.
Moreover, while the filming of advertisements, movies and documentaries will incur no charges, the producers will be required to follow a streamlined single-window clearance process.
According to the GR, a security deposit of Rs 40,000 is required for advertisements, Rs 1 lakh for TV serials, and Rs 2.5 lakh for films.
However, it is worth nothing that the new scheme does not cover Dadasheb Phalke Chitranagari in Mumbai, the film city in Kolhapur, and a new film city being developed in the state.
