Facebook Analytics served as a messiah for everyone using the social media app to conduct business, get a proper understanding of the advertising, presences and activities on Facebook and Instagram.

It served as a beneficial tool that could be used to track likes, page views and to monitor the interaction of the audience with a business page on Facebook. Facebook Analytics gives full insights and data that help one get the most from the social network.

In their latest announcement, Facebook has announced its decision to discontinue with the Facebook Analytics page, which would be functional till 30th June, 2021. As well as asking their users to export their current charts and reports, it also offers them several alternatives to the Analytics page that could be used instead.

Facebook suggests the following:

  • Facebook Business Suite allows you to manage your Facebook and Instagram business accounts and can show you detailed insights about your audience, content and trends. (This tool may not be available to you yet.)
  • Ads Manager lets you view, make changes and see results for all of your Facebook campaigns, ad sets and ads.
  • Events Manager can help you set up and manage Facebook Business tools such as the Facebook pixel and Conversions API, and reports actions taken on your website, in your app and in your physical shop.

The cause of the discontinuation of Facebook Analytics remains unknown but many speculate that the reason for it might be the lack of usefulness Analytics provided compared to other tools present. The social media application is going through several changes and this particular discontinuation is a sign that advertising on the platform will be different.
