WhatsApp Plans On Launching Disappearing Mode, Multi-Device Support
In an interview with WABetainfo, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and WhatsApp chief Will Cathcart have confirmed that WhatsApp will soon allow users to use the app on multiple devices simultaneously.
Will Cathcart also mentioned that the app can be connected to 4 devices at a time simultaneously and the company is dedicated to bringing the social-messaging app to iPad as well.
Although a date hasn't been set for the commencement of usage of the app on different devices, the new feature is being tested on WhatsApp’s private Beta versions for quite a while now. According to Mark Zuckerberg, “It’s been a big technical challenge to get all your messages and content to sync properly across devices even when your phone battery dies, but we’ve solved this and we’re looking forward to getting it out soon!”
However, the announcement of novel features does not end here. Zuckerberg also stated that they are planning on extending their 'disappearing messages features' by including pictures and videos that can only be viewed once. Users would also get the option of enforcing the feature on disappearing messages across all of their WhatsApp chat threads as well.
Zuckerberg and Cathcart told the news outlet that it intends to make the two features available to users in public beta “in the next month or two.”
