Aditya Birla Group Pays Tribute to Mahatma Gandhi with ‘Instruments of Change’ Campaign

In a creative tribute to honor the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi on Gandhi Jayanti, the Aditya Birla Group launched its latest initiative titled ‘Instruments of Change.’ This campaign beautifully commemorates Gandhi’s enduring influence on India and the world by blending innovation with artistry.

At the heart of the ‘Instruments of Change’ campaign are five extraordinary musical instruments, each crafted from materials produced by the Aditya Birla Group. These instruments come together to perform an instrumental rendition of Gandhi’s cherished hymn, Vaishnav Jan To, symbolizing how individuals can be instruments of positive change in society.

The campaign’s digital video, which opens with the thought-provoking question, “What Makes One a Mahatma?” reflects key moments from Gandhi’s life, emphasizing his commitment to truth, non-violence, and justice. Through spoken word poetry, the campaign encourages viewers to recognize their own potential to become agents of change, following in the footsteps of the Mahatma.

A key component of the ‘Instruments of Change’ initiative is its support for the Eternal Gandhi Museums, also known as Gandhi Peace Centres. These museums, which are located in cities such as New Delhi, Bhubaneswar, New Jersey, and Birmingham, offer visitors a captivating journey through Gandhi’s life and teachings. Through an interactive blend of photographs, artwork, film clips, and multimedia presentations, these centres bring Gandhi’s message to life, allowing audiences to engage with India’s history in a meaningful way.

Rajashree Birla, Chairperson of the Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development, spoke about the deep connection between the Birla family and Mahatma Gandhi. “My grandfather-in-law, Shri Ghanshyam Dasji Birla, had a close, symbiotic relationship with the Mahatma, which has deeply influenced the Birla family for generations. Gandhi’s principles of truth, trusteeship, and justice have shaped our family values, and we carry this legacy forward through initiatives like the Gandhi Peace Centres.”

The Peace Centres, she added, serve as more than just museums. They are immersive experiences that reignite interest in Gandhian philosophy, offering a renewed sense of purpose to all who visit. “These exhibits are our way of paying homage to Gandhi’s remarkable life and ensuring that his teachings continue to inspire future generations,” Birla explained.

Aditya Birla Group’s ‘Instruments of Change’ campaign is more than a celebration of Gandhi’s life—it’s a call to action. Through its innovative use of materials and music, the campaign aims to remind individuals of their power to make a difference, however big or small. By connecting Gandhi’s timeless ideals with modern creativity, the Aditya Birla Group hopes to inspire people to embrace change and work toward a more just, compassionate world.

This tribute, launched on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, reflects the Aditya Birla Group’s commitment to not only honoring the past but also shaping a better future.
