Ambuja Cements Drives Rural Transformation with ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ Campaign

Ambuja Cements, a proud part of the Adani Portfolio, has reaffirmed its dedication to social responsibility by taking an active role in the government’s ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ initiative.

Through targeted efforts across rural regions, the company is championing cleanliness, hygiene, and sustainable waste management practices, aiming to inspire long-lasting behavioral changes in communities.

In Farakka, West Bengal, local residents joined forces to clean public spaces, applying bleaching powder to improve sanitation. Their combined efforts resulted in the removal of nearly 3 quintals of garbage, creating cleaner and safer communal areas.

Maharashtra’s Khambada village saw a spirited Cleanliness Rally, where participants pledged to prioritize sanitation. This was followed by a thorough cleaning drive that engaged the entire village, fostering a shared commitment to hygiene.

At Darlaghat in Himachal Pradesh, Ambuja Cements brought together leaders, educators, and community members for a unique painting competition, ‘Swachhata Hi Seva, Swabhav Swachhata, Sanskar Swachhata.’ The event concluded with an impactful sanitation drive led by health workers and Swachhta Doots, further strengthening awareness around hygiene.

Punjab’s Bathinda district became a hub of activity with poster competitions in government schools and coordinated village clean-up drives in Banwala Hanwanta, Behak Khas, and Asafwala. These activities, under Ambuja’s Human Resource Development Program, left a lasting impression on both students and villagers.

In Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, Ambuja Cements collaborated with the Gram Panchayat, women’s groups, and schools to host sanitation awareness sessions, plastic collection drives, and art competitions. These events highlighted the critical importance of sustainable waste management.

Additional campaigns in Bhatapara and Sankrail focused on engaging women-led self-help groups and Pragati Village Organization in rallies and clean-up efforts targeting schools and village centers. By involving these grassroots organizations, Ambuja Cements ensured the initiative resonated deeply within the communities.

As India continues to advance in rural sanitation and waste management, Ambuja Cements remains steadfast in its mission to contribute to a healthier, cleaner nation. Through its proactive approach and alignment with national objectives, the company is setting a powerful example of corporate responsibility driving meaningful change.

With its ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ initiatives, Ambuja Cements is not just cleaning villages—it is transforming lives
