Applied Materials Appoints Avinash Avula To Lead India Operations

Mr. Avula brings to the role 25 years of business, technology development and operational leadership, primarily in the semiconductor and electronics industries spanning the U.S. and Asia

He returns to Applied during an exciting period of expansion for India’s semiconductor industry

Applied Materials has appointed Avinash Avula to serve as Country President of Applied Materials India. In this role, Avula leads Applied’s overall business operations in India, which currently spans five sites along with organisations responsible for R&D, product development, IT and operations. Avula previously served in a variety of management roles at Applied Materials’ corporate offices in Santa Clara, California and Singapore.

Avula previously led business and technology development for advanced packaging at Applied Materials in Singapore, establishing the company’s Advanced Packaging Development Center in collaboration with A*STAR.  Before returning to Applied, Avula spent over nine years at DuPont as a Vice President and General Manager leading a variety of specialty materials businesses serving the printed circuit board, assembly, semiconductor and display industries. He previously served as an operations consultant supporting a number of major semiconductor companies in the U.S.

Avula holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, a master’s degree in industrial engineering from Texas A&M University and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Osmania University in India.
