‘Peak Bengaluru’
An auto driver from Bengaluru, hub of entrepreneurial spirit in India, has gone viral across the internet for his bold startup pitch.
Named Samuel Christy, the driver was an aspiring entrepreneur who devised an innovative method to raise funds.
Pasting a poster on the back of his auto seat, he appealed to customers with a written note: “Hi passenger, my name is Samuel Christy. I’m a graduate who is looking to raise funds for my startup business idea. If you’re interested, please talk to me.”
Netizens React:
The unique startup pitch has gone viral across Reddit, with a user captioning it, “Yet another peak Bengaluru moment!”
Many social media users have expressed support and enthusiasm for Samuel Christy’s venture, hoping that funds he need. Some praised his creativity, with one user saying, “I think it’s a great effort. Hope he succeeds!” Another even offered support, writing, “If he’s interested, I could help him for a price.”
However, there was some skepticism due to some of the grammatical errors of the pitch, which some have taken to mean a potential scam. “This could be a scam too. Auto drivers are the biggest scamsters in Bengaluru,” a user warned, giving an example of their personal experience in Koramangala.
However, many also defended Christy’s efforts. “If someone is interested in making a startup, I’d worry about the idea, not about the grammar,” a user pointed out.
“Everybody who’s talking about the grammatical errors, I’m sure this man will achieve more than what you guys will ever achieve in life,” another added.
This is not the first time Bengaluru has captured netizens’ attention for its groundbreaking ideas and unique startups. In another instance, an auto driver made headlines for promoting Kannada language learning to non-Kannada speakers by displaying a poster in his auto titled “Learn Kannada with an Auto Kannadiga,”, featuring common Kannada phrases translated into English. This gained widespread appreciation across social media.
