Bhuvan Bam hopes Taaza Khabar 2 is his “audition tape” into Bollywood

Content creator turned actor Bhuvan Bam’s highly-anticipated Taaza Khabar sequel premiered in September. The show saw Bhuvan reprising his role as Vasant, a sanitation worker with the unique ability to foresee the future.

As Taaza Khabar Season 2 captivated and entertained viewers all across the country, 30-year-old Bhuvan sat down for an interview with The Hindustan Times where he expressed his desire to venture into Bollywood, highlighting his ambition to make a mark on the big screen.

“I hope it helps me transition more smoothly into Bollywood, proving that digital creators can also thrive in mainstream cinema,” he said.

Calling his recently released series an “audition tape” for Bollywood, Bhuvan said, “In Taaza Khabar 2, I’ve pushed myself beyond the boundaries and tested my acting range, especially with scenes that demand a lot of vulnerability and strength. It’s not just about making people laugh or feel emotional – it’s about showing that I can be versatile and hold my own in different genres. I see it as a way to prove myself to both the audiences and the industry.”

Circling back to Taaza Khabar, Bhuvan  also credited actors Jaaved Jaaferi, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Mahesh Manjrekar for the success of their project.

“Working with such an incredible cast was inspiring and intimidating. There were moments when their performance would ignite something new in my own approach to a scene. I learned a lot just by observing their craft,” he praised.

Taaza Khabar Season 2 is available for streaming on Disney+Hotstar.
