Ever since the coronavirus pandemic started mushrooming out of control, people have been feeling uneasy about touching surfaces like elevator buttons, doorknobs, ATMs, etc. which come in contact with a lot of people, and for good reason too. Feet, elbows, knees and the whole brood of odd body parts being used to interact with these surfaces have been a common sight over the last few months.

McDonald’s Germany came up with a clever solution to reduce such surfaces in their restaurants. They integrated the restaurants with their mobile app to transform the ordering process into a contactless experience. The brand teamed up with the agency Wieden+Kennedy to come up with a quirky ad campaign called #TouchThis where it hilariously captured the reluctance of people having to come in contact with everyday surfaces and objects and eventually flipping the switch on the concept by introducing their new contactless ordering experience.
