Like other important awareness days, brands have shown their dedication to spreading awareness on another noteworthy issue that is not spoken of often. We have glimpsed countless campaigns speaking of overall hygiene, but selected ones take women-specific hygiene awareness into consideration.

For an event like World Menstrual Hygiene Day, commendable campaigns have come forth, portraying the message of hygiene and presenting the issue of menstrual leaves in their own clever ways.

A Banglore-based brand- Yashram Lifestyle, executed one such campaign that initiated a conversation amongst the audience.

The campaign titled- #BeShameless, features a series of people documenting their knowledge of the natural happening and shedding a light on the different elements that should be spoken of more clearly, openly and ‘Shamelessly’

“There is so much more that needs to be done in the menstrual hygiene space. This campaign focuses on the need for removing the taboo around such conversations in everyday lives in everyday homes. This is a life-changing event in every girl’s life. However, it cannot be one that keeps takes away her freedom and boxes her in another layer of bias. The more we normalize this discussion with women and men in our homes and surroundings, we take away its power to hold a girl back. The in-house shot campaign covering the stories of the brand’s team members was a healthy step to create awareness on such an occupied platform and interesting participation in the year’s World Menstrual Hygiene Day.
