What’s the best way to guarantee tax returns from your customers? Pranking them with fake tax notices, of course!
Cleartax, India’s most famous tax filing platform, has partnered with Swiggy Instamart to play a prank on its customers in order to boost awareness about tax returns.
On 13th July, Bangaloreans who ordered from Swiggy Instamart got fake tax notices along with their regular grocery orders. When opened, this notice had Bollywood’s veteran “Bad Man” actor Gulshan Grover’s face printed on it along with an unexpected message: ‘Not this time. Get a tax refund. Not a tax notice.”
Hilarious? Terrifying? Take your pick.
According to the company, this campaign will be ongoing in Bangalore till the 14th of July, and reached almost half a million households in just 3 days. Evidently, both Cleartax and Swiggy Instamart are determined to drive home the message with some humor and a whole load of panic.
Cleartax has concluded India’s biggest tax filing festival, “Big Filing Days“, during which it offered up to 55% off on its ITR filing plans. Additionally, Cleartax tied up with 3 famous brands – Ixigo, Yatra and, of course, Swiggy – to offer helpful rewards to its ITR filers between the 15th to the 14th.
