Stand-up comedian Pranit More has alleged that he was assaulted by a group of men following his performance in Solapur on February 2.
The incident reportedly took place outside 24K Kraft Brewzz, where More had just wrapped up his Marathi-language show, Bhumi Putra.
More, who has built a strong digital presence with his crowd work and viral Instagram clips, often stays back after performances to interact with his audience. However, on this occasion, what seemed like a routine fan engagement turned violent when a group of 11-12 men allegedly attacked him. The comedian stated that he was repeatedly punched and kicked, and was even issued threats.
According to More’s Instagram post, the attackers were led by Tanveer Shaikh and targeted him for his jokes about Bollywood newcomer Veer Pahariya. One of the assailants reportedly warned him, “Try cracking a joke about Veer baba again.” Pahariya recently made his film debut in Sky Force, starring Akshay Kumar.

The comedian also expressed frustration over the venue’s refusal to provide CCTV footage, which he believes contains crucial evidence. Furthermore, he highlighted the lack of prompt action from law enforcement, revealing that he had to file an online complaint from Mumbai.
“This is being shared because people need to see the reality,” More wrote in his post. “Maharashtra is my home, and it’s shocking to think that violence is replacing open conversations and humor.”
As the incident gains traction online, fans and fellow comedians have voiced their support for More, calling for justice and action against those responsible. The episode raises concerns over artistic freedom and the growing intolerance towards comedy as a form of expression.
