Influencer and actress Kusha Kapila recently opened up on her divorce with Zorawar and the trolling she endured while speaking to The Lallantop in an interview.

She said: “I was scared that a new news cycle would be built on this. I remember calling Zorawar and he told me not to feel pressured to do this. he said ‘We will do this when you want to.’ I was so scared that day that I could not even write what we had shared on social media. The statement had my dog Maya’s name and people thought that I was a mother. I reached out to everyone I could for help as to what should I do as the news cycle got really big and I became a big villain. After that statement, I could actually find peace and calm in my life.”

Kusha has also addressed the harsh comments made by Samay Raina on the show Pretty Good Roast Show S1. Kusha and Samay, along with other comedians, participated to try and roast each other. However, Samay targeted Kusha and made several remarks about her marriage, divorce, and even her sex life. Some of these comments were censored by the show.

In an AMA session in Instagram, she admitted that she is yet to fully process her divorce and will open up about it some day, if she thinks it is right. She added that she has restricted phases including  ‘Samay Raina’, ‘Aashish Solanki’ and ‘dark humour’.

“Not my first time on the rodeo,” she wrote. “In the large scheme of things, nothing matters. Probably when I have processed all of it, will speak about it on a level-headed podcast (lol do we have any) or maybe never. We will see. This profile continues to be a safe space for my female and queer followers.”

Kusha and Zorawar tied the knot in 2017 and announced their separation in 2023. They issued a joint statement that revealed that “we gave it our all, until we couldn’t anymore.” The former couple also emphasized that a “relationship ending is heartbreaking” and that they need time for healing.
