Everything you need to know about Netflix’s creator survival show “The Influencer”

Netflix has released its brand-new creator survival series, “The Influencer”, that explores the glamorous and cutthroat world of online fame.

About The Influencer:

The show includes 77 influencers from Korea who compete to determine who holds the most influence on social media and showcase their skills on platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and AfreecaTV. With a high-stakes social survival setting, the influencers face obstacles, form unexpected alliances, and fight for the top spot.

With a prize of 300 million won (approximately 18 crores INR) up for grabs, the participants will be sure to put their best foot forward to emerge as the winner.

One of the most surprising aspects of the show was the requirement of influencers to wear collars displaying their follower count on social media platforms. These collars vaguely resembled dog leashes, leaving the audience to wonder if the show aimed to make a bold statement about the industry’s challenges.

Who are the Influencers?

The participants include some of Korea’s most popular influencers like RISABAE, PaniBottle, Shim Euddeum, Sia_jiwoo, KEJIMIN, Ki Eun-Se, and Heo Seong-Beom, and more. In addtion, Jang Keun Suk makes a surprise appearance to the show, adding to its star power.

Thus, its contestants’ fields of influence span across various topics, from beauty to fashion to fitness to sports.

The Influencer‘ has premiered on August 6th and is already stealing hearts worldwide. It offers both drama and emotional resonance, and has been compared to dystopian stories like Battle Royale for its realistic behind-the-scenes look at the lives of influencers.
