Foxtale, a fast-growing D2C skincare brand, has announced securing $30 million (around ₹250 crore) in a funding round led by Japanese beauty giant Kose Corporation.
The round also saw participation from existing investors, including Z47 (formerly Matrix Partners India), Kae Capital, and Panthera Growth Partners.
This funding marks a significant milestone for Foxtale, coming just months after the company raised $18 million in June 2024. The latest infusion will be utilized to broaden its product portfolio, enhance its digital footprint, and drive innovation in skincare solutions tailored for Indian consumers.
Founded by Romita Mazumdar in 2021, Foxtale has rapidly positioned itself as a leading name in affordable skincare, offering products that address common skin concerns such as acne, hyperpigmentation, and signs of aging. With a strong focus on Indian skin types, the brand has cultivated a loyal customer base of over 1.5 million individuals.
Foxtale’s revenue distribution highlights its robust digital strategy: 50% of sales are driven through its website, 40% from online marketplaces and quick commerce platforms, and the remaining 10% via offline channels. The brand’s products are widely accessible across platforms like Nykaa, Amazon, Blinkit, Flipkart, Myntra, and over 1,000 retail stores across India.
In 2024, Foxtale ventured into bodycare, leveraging insights from an 11,000-strong consumer panel. The brand currently offers 20 skincare SKUs, focusing on creating effective, high-quality formulations that resonate with its audience. This streamlined approach has been pivotal in achieving a remarkable 150% growth in FY25, with the company on track to achieve profitability by the end of the next fiscal year.
Foxtale’s partnership with Kose Corporation further solidifies its market position. This collaboration not only supports the Japanese beauty brand’s expansion in India but also enhances Foxtale’s research and development capabilities, enabling the creation of more innovative products.
As the skincare market grows increasingly competitive, Foxtale continues to stand out by delivering results-driven products and maintaining strong customer retention. Competing with established brands like Sugar Cosmetics, WOW Skin Science, Plum, MamaEarth, and Minimalist, Foxtale’s focus on affordability, effectiveness, and innovation ensures its place among the industry’s frontrunners.
With a clear roadmap and a robust growth trajectory, Foxtale is set to further redefine skincare in India, blending science, innovation, and customer-centricity to meet the evolving needs of its audience
