The post has since gained over 22k likes and gone viral across social media, prompting widespread appreciation from LinkedIn users.
Many of them view the feature as a valuable addition to their navigation experience, particularly in complex urban roadways, where it offers, clear, structured directions to travelers.
Some have also taken the opportunity to give suggestions for what Google Maps can do in the future to further improve users’ experience.
In the comment section, businessman Saurabh Khandelwal responded positively and wrote, “I have not observed this feature in Google Maps. I recently traveled about 1000 km. But it’s a very good feature….They should also give details of toll plazas on the highway and the amount it will charge during travel. So that we should know in advance how much we are spending on toll. One can plan the FASTag recharge in advance to avoid blacklisting and paying double in cash.”
An engineer named Faique Jatu suggested: “Using a different color code for the path that takes flyover would have been a better option, i think so.”
A software developer, Yash B, highlighted how the development of such a feature probably took a team effort, underscoring how results like these are the result of collaborative work.
“I believe, it was not a person rather it’s a whole good team. And before that, it was years long pending user’s/client feedback or demand,” he wrote.
