Home Centre has launched its heartfelt Diwali campaign, “Speaking Gifts,” developed in partnership with United270 Global Communication Lab, a creative agency with roots in Bangalore and now also Mumbai.
This campaign is a fresh reminder of the timeless sentiment behind gifting, especially in a world where face-to-face connections have become rare. Instead of just exchanging material items, Home Centre’s new campaign underscores that gifts can convey emotions more powerfully than words.
Rooted in the belief that gifting is a language of its own, “Speaking Gifts” draws on the idea that people often struggle to express their feelings openly. Gifts have, in turn, evolved into symbols of what words may fail to capture. According to Jeff Emmanuel, Chief Creative Officer of United270 Global, this campaign’s purpose is to emphasize that thoughtful gifts can embody feelings and bring deeper meaning to relationships. Emmanuel says, “In ‘Speaking Gifts,’ we wanted to move beyond the traditional view of gift-giving as a Diwali formality. Every carefully chosen gift can express unspoken emotions and strengthen bonds.”
The campaign’s film series brings out the emotional nuances of Diwali gifting, showcasing relationships in their purest form. Each video reveals the warmth and closeness shared between loved ones during the festival, capturing how a simple gesture can be loaded with meaning. This campaign is part of Home Centre’s broader brand evolution, where the company is leaning into a premium and modern image.
Home Centre’s CEO, Sitaram Kumar, notes that Diwali is a highly anticipated season for the brand, as customers seek special gifts for family, friends, and even for personal spaces. “Every year, we curate our collections with the love and inspiration drawn from global trends as well as Indian traditions. This Diwali, we are proud to celebrate thoughtful gifting, where each present holds a heartfelt message,” Kumar shares.
United270 Global’s involvement came after a competitive multi-agency pitch. Their understanding of today’s Indian consumer and ability to connect deeply with cultural nuances helped them clinch the project. Shikha S Mazumdar, Head of Marketing and VM at Home Centre, calls this campaign a “game-changer” for the brand’s approach to festive advertising. She explains, “Through Speaking Gifts, we’re capturing the celebratory spirit and warmth of the festive season, showing that thoughtful gifts become cherished memories for both the giver and receiver.”
With its focus on emotional connections, Home Centre’s “Speaking Gifts” campaign seeks to elevate gifting into an act of love and appreciation. It transforms the experience of exchanging gifts into a meaningful ritual that transcends the festive season, solidifying the value of relationships
