Data Privacy has become a major concern in the last few years with advertising going digital and being more targeted than ever. While targeted ads may seem convenient, the idea of constantly being monitored is unsettling, to say the least. Apple has always taken a stand for data privacy and talks about the same in its latest ad campaign called ‘Oversharing’.

The ad shows people loudly announcing their private data in public. This does not only visibly annoy everyone around them but also shows us how our data can be misused. The ad satirically raises a mirror to the world about how the data we so nonchalantly share with the world could have serious repercussions on us. It then talks about how some things shouldn’t be shared and how Apple helps us keep it that way. The ad makes clever use of satire to talk about a pressing matter in our ballooning digital world.
