#RipCartoonNetwork has been trending on social media platform X amid reports that the channel is shutting down. How much of this is actually true?
It all started when a community-run account identified as “Animation Workers Ignited” shared a post on X asking “Cartoon Network is dead?” They posted a video on the platform and wrote, “Spread the world about what’s at stake for animation!!! Post about your favorite Cartoon Network shows using #RIPCartoonNetwork. Active members of TAG can help by filling out your survey! Today (7/8) is the last day!”
The video is a conversation between cartoon characters that talks about the problems faced by the animation industry and pleads for help.

However, it is clear that Animation Workers ignited used video and hashtag as a much-needed wake-up call for people to acknowledge and address the mounting problems in the animation industry. However, the rumors are false: Cartoon Network is not shutting down.
