‘The Spirit of Seva lives on’
In the final twist of the JioHotstar.com saga, Dubai-based siblings have decided to give the domain they brought to reliance “free of cost”.
Jainam and Jivika, who are residents of the UAE, purchased the JioHotstar domain from a young app developer in Delhi in order to help him fund his education. After previously offering to hand over the domain to Reliance, the siblings have now decided to make good on their word.
“Reliance IP legal team has approached us, and we will be transferring this domain to them, free of cost,” they said in a message on the website.
The young duo took the time to highlight that there was no “pressure” from anyone involved, dispelling widespread gossip and speculation circulating across the internet.
“There have been some rumours online suggesting that there is a payment or deal involved, but we want to make it clear—this is not true. Just as we said in our last video, there is no pressure from anyone, and there is no deal of any kind. This is purely a transfer of the domain from our side because we believe it could be useful for them. Whether or not they choose to use it is up to them.”
Announcing that their “journey with jiohotstar.com is coming to an end”, the siblings also wrote that they were currently waiting for a draft from the Reliance legal team to effectuate the transfer.
“The Reliance IP legal team has contacted us. We have told them that the domain transfer will only happen after the agreement is signed. They have asked us to visit Mumbai to sign the agreement,” they explained.
“As soon as this happens, we will transfer the domain and this website will come to an end.”
However, the duo emphasized that their larger journey of ‘Seva’ will continue across the years to come. Their channels JJFuntime and JJMissionDiary are active with new missions ahead of them, and they can be found at SevakArmy.com, a platform created to bring volunteers together and make a positive difference. They have encouraged viewers to sign up as well.
“Remember: Be the change you wish to see in the world,” they wrote. “Let’s keep this journey of Seva going, together.”
