KiranaPro Secures Pre-Seed Funding to Revolutionize Local Stores with Dark Store Model

KiranaPro, a startup focused on transforming local kirana stores into efficient dark stores, has raised pre-seed funding from a group of angel investors, including Yatish Talvadia (co-founder of MilkBasket) and Vikas Taneja (senior partner at Boston Consulting Group).

Other early-stage venture firms like TurboStart, Unpopular Ventures, and Blume Founders Fund also participated in the funding round.

The capital will enable KiranaPro to scale its operational teams, enhance its ONDC-enabled technology infrastructure, and launch a consumer app to expand its services into new cities. The company’s innovative model empowers local stores by converting them into high-speed fulfillment centers, capable of ultra-fast 10-minute deliveries. This transformation leverages their proximity to consumers, allowing them to compete effectively with large e-commerce players while maintaining trust and reliability.

KiranaPro’s model offers flexible revenue options for store owners, including daily rates or per-lead fees. The company is also setting up dedicated counters in supermarkets to process rapid deliveries efficiently, catering to the increasing demand for convenience in shopping.

As KiranaPro grows, its technology and business model aim to strengthen local retail, turning traditional stores into key players in the quick commerce space
