Content creator and actress Kusha Kapila received the ‘Social Impact Influencer Of The Year’ award at the NDTV Indian Of The Year event held in New Delhi on Saturday.
She received the award from union minister Smriti Irani, who follows her on Instagram and praised her by saying that she wins every battle with grace.
Taking to Instagram, Kusha shared photographs and memories of the event and her prestigious award, saying that she was “overwhelmed to share stage with these incredible women”.

Kusha, who is from Delhi, dedicated her award to her parents who gave her the freedom and agency to achieve her dream. She said: “I started making content at 28 after working for seven years. I feel there’s nothing better than being your true self. Social media allows me to be my true self.”
Kusha Kapila was not the only content creator to be awarded by NDTV. Prajakta Koli, known for her role in Netflix’s “Mismatched”, was named the ‘Climate Influencer Of The Year“. Prajakta was appointed as UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) India’s first Youth Climate Champion in 2022. In January 2023, Palso rajakta attended the World Economic Forum held in Davos.
Other award categories and award winners include: Sunny Deol as “Entertainer Of The Year”, Peyush Bansal as “Innovator Of The Year”, and the Indian Women Cricket Team as “Sports Performance of the Year”, among others.
