Meta has announced the rollout of a new tool called AI Studio that will allow users to create, share and design personalized AI chatbots.
“You can use a wide variety of prompt templates or start from scratch to make an AI that teaches you how to cook, helps you with your Instagram captions, generates memes to make your friends laugh – the possibilities are endless. Your AI can be just for you, or you can share it with your followers and friends, and even make it available for anyone to discover and chat with on Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp and web,” Meta wrote.
If you’re a creator, you’ll also be able to have your digital doppelgänger interact with fans in the DMs.
How to get started?
In order to access, users must visit ai.meta.com/ai-studio or start a new message on Instagram, and tap “AI Chats”. After that, you will get the chance to customize your AI character’s name, personality, tony, avatar and tagline.
Meta has created a step-by-step guide with expert tips to help you bring your AI character to life here.
In a blog post, Meta has touted several chatbots built by famous celebrities, including “Eat Like You Live There!” a chatbot for dining recommendations created by chef Marc Murphy, and “What Lens Bro,” a bot for photography created by photographer Angel Barclay.
How was it built?
Meta’s new tool has been built with Llama 3.1, the biggest version of its artificial intelligence models that were launched last week, which are available in multiple languages and have performance metrics that compete with paid models from rivals like OpenAI.
The company asserts that AI Studio will let users limit who their chatbots interact with and prevent them from discussing certain topics. The AI Studio usage policy also forbids users from representing real people other than themselves. It also prohibits historical people, religious figures, murderers, or any other “objects that could be considered hateful, explicit or illegal”.
