Netflix has dropped its annual special gift, “Playbook 2023”, taking its viewers on a nostalgic journey through the iconic moments of this past year.
From the hottest couple in town to a crash course on internet trends to the “Just looking like a Wow” meme, the world’s leading streaming giant has created a roller-coaster of memories and standout scenes from popular movies and shows, all in the span of a little over 4 minutes.
Netflix’s “Playback 2023” starts with popular comedian Tanmay Bhat doing what he does best: reacting to a video. He writes a prompt, just like he does on his YouTube channel ‘Overpowered’ – only for Netflix to steal the spotlight and take center stage, presenting a montage of unforgettable moments from its 2023 lineup.
The vibrant montage video is filled to the brim with iconic scenes from the past year, beginning with Jackie Dada delivering anda kadi patta from Never Have I Ever. It also features the Round2Hell squad; Raina Naidu driving a car with Bigg Boss OTT star Manisha Rani and dancing a remix of ‘Looking like a Wow’; Genelia D’Souza making us recall the iconic proposal from Jane Tu Ya Jaane Na; and Arjun from Guns & Gulaabs. All of these scenes – and many more – correspond to prompts that Bhat writes down.
Bhat’s own presence and comedic wit is a perfect match for Netflix’s journey of rapid-fire nostalgia, making this year’s playbook one that audiences will always remember.
