‘Here to make sure every pizza is chased with a Pepsi.’
In a move to cement the perfect Pizza and Pepsi pairing, the soft drink brand has rolled out its latest ad, ‘Pepsi Chase Cars’, with a perfect fusion of humor and action.
Created in collaboration with BBDO Worldwide, the ad highlights hat pizza tastes better when chased by Pepsi – literally.
The content imagines pizza deliveries with a high-stakes twist. While everyday consumers are waiting for their piping hot pizza, the brand’s delivery personnel chase after the pizza drivers in a sleek car. As the chase car pulls up alongside the pizza delivery vehicle, the over-eager driver leaps out just as the pizza is being handed to the customer – handing over a complimentary Pepsi to the surprised but overjoyed customers, much to the annoyance of the delivery drivers who were followed, who humorously assumed that it was “some kind of TikTok bullshit”.

The ‘Pepsi Chase Cars’ ad is the latest extension of the brand’s #BetterWithPepsi platform which aims to emphasize that all food, especially pizza, deserves Pepsi, by leveraging the cultural norm of pizza Fridays, where nearly 42% of all pizza orders take place.
To highlight this still further, Pepsi offered free pizzas to those who chose to “chase their pizza” and satisfy a minimum order amount. The four participating chains included are Little Caesars, Papa Johns, Pizza Hut and Marco’s Pizz, and the qualifying orders were meant to be placed through DoorDash.
