Prajakta Koli and Freida Pinto, two influential figures in the entertainment industry, have lent their voices to a powerful film series called ‘She Creates Change’.
Curated by the global education nonprofit Room to Read, this initiative aims to promote gender equality and literacy in marginalized communities, highlighting the belief that educated women can be the driving force for positive change in the world.
This 6-episode short film series tells the story of six girls from various low-income communities across the world. These girls face a myriad of challenges unique to their backgrounds, but learn to advocate for themselves and tap into their inner strength, equipped with vital life skills. Blending animation with life-action documentary, “She Creates Change” delves into vital themes like climate justice, financial literacy, food insecurity, child marriage, discrimination, menstruation, and sexual harassment.
“As the voice of Dewmini, a character deeply rooted in climate advocacy and girls’ education and empowerment, I am profoundly honoured to be part of She Creates Change,” said Prajakta Koli. “This film beautifully captures the diverse journeys of young girls from various regions, emphasising the pivotal role of education in shaping their future.”
“She Creates Change” is helmed by Emmy-winner Martha Adams as the director, with Ian Blei as the producer.
