Reddit is back online after a social media outrage that impacted thousands of users across the globe.
According to online tracking platform Downdetector, the downtime started around 3pm (ET), with users reporting issues accessing the Reddit website via mobile and PC. At the peak, there were approximately 49,000 people who faced difficulties with the platform.

Reddit succeeded in resolving the problem. A post by the official handle of Reddit status has confirmed that the bug has been fixed, writing: “Monitoring: A fix has been implemented and we are monitoring the results.”

“Sorry sorry sorry,” the company said in response to their post, apologizing to their users for the inconvenience the outrage caused.
This marks the fourth such outrage on Reddit during the past few months, where it faced similar problems in September, August and October. In all former causes, the issue was swiftly resolved.
Several other social media platforms are also witnessing similar outrages with increasing frequently, such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT previously experiencing a “partial outrage” that affected users across the globe.
