Revant Himatsingka, a popular health influencer who previously succeeded in getting Bournvita to reduce their sugar quantity, has scored yet another historic win against the controversial beverage brand.
In April 2023 last year, Revant posted a video where he claimed that per 100 x of Bournvita contains 50 g of sugar. He said that the company should consider changing the tagline from ‘taiyari jeet ki’ to ‘taiyari diabetes ki’. Despite being threatened with a legal notice, his video went viral and he was supported by a host of other prominent doctors and nutritionists. In December, he finally succeeded, with Bournvita promising to reduce their sugar quantity by by almost 15%.
Now, his efforts have come full circle. In a letter dated 10th Apri, the government reportedly ordered e-c0mmerce companies to delist Bournvita and similar beverages from the “health drinks” category in their respective platforms.
Taking to Instagram, Revant posted a celebratory photograph and wrote, “This is just the beginning and we have a long way to go together! POSITIVE AGGRESSION!!”
