“New ways to get things done on a bigger screen.”

At its Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2024, the phone maker has revealed its new generation of flagship foldables – the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6.

Appearance and Design:

Galaxy Z Fold 6: Samsung has launched the slimmest and lightest Z fold device yet at just 239 grams. Additionally, it has a 7.6-inch Infinity Flex Display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate on the inside. On the outside, is a 6.3-inch HD+ Dynamic AMOLED display.

Galaxy Z Flip 6: In terms of design, Samsung’s new model has retained its similar display from last year. It now features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz Adaptive refresh rate on the inside. On the outside, it contains a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED FlexWindow.

Performance:

Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 have both been equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, which should ideally result in a smooth performance for both the devices. Additionally, Samsung has installed an ungraded cooling system that maximizes performance with a bigger vapor chamber on their Galaxy Z Fold 6 and, for the first time ever, on Galaxy Z Flip 6.

Samsung’s new Galaxy Z series also comes with enhanced armor aluminum and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, both in the front and back.

Samsung has promised seven years of OS and security updates for both Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6.

AI Capabilities:

The device comes with a range of AI-powered tools that boost productivity and maximize its large screen. Among others, some noteworthy new features include:

  • Google’s Gemini app has been fully integrated into the new Galaxy Z series, providing you with your own AI-powered assistant right on your phone.
  • Note Assist: Located in Samsung Notes, it offers translation, summaries and auto formatting for simple and easy meeting notes. Additionally, a newly embedded transcript feature allows transcription, translation, and summarizing of voice recordings directly in notes.
  • Texts in PDF files can be translated and overlaid perfectly through the PDF overlay translation feature in Notes—and it even supports text in images and graphs.
  • A newly added Composer from Samsung Keyboard also generates suggested text based on simple keywords for email and supported social media apps.
  • The S-pen experience has also been updated with the new sketch-to-image feature, allowing users to create more sophisticated and beautiful art pieces.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 will go to sale from July 24.
