Scarecrow M&C Saatchi has teamed up with Sportz Village to unveil a compelling new campaign titled ‘Champion ka Syllabus.’
This initiative challenges the traditional view of school education, emphasizing that a child’s growth should go beyond academic subjects and also focus on sports. The core belief driving this campaign is that champions are not born, but developed through a holistic educational approach in schools.
The campaign features a powerful film that visually demonstrates how the journey to becoming a champion involves more than just physical training—it mirrors life’s challenges. According to the film, every failure offers a lesson, every challenge creates a new opportunity, and every day is a fresh test for young athletes. This resonates with the campaign’s underlying message: the pathway to excellence in both sports and life is demanding, but with the right guidance, anyone can emerge as a champion.
A key objective of Sportz Village’s campaign is to not only foster life skills in children but also to contribute to India’s long-term goal of building a pool of athletes capable of excelling on the global stage, including the 2036 Olympics. By providing structured training and identifying promising talent in schools, Sportz Village aims to help groom the next generation of athletes.
Saumil Majumdar, CEO & Managing Director of Sportz Village, shared his thoughts on the brand’s milestone 21st anniversary, which was celebrated on August 31st. Over the past two decades, Sportz Village has positively impacted the lives of over 6 million students from more than 18,000 schools across India, spanning 22 states. With support from over 100 brands, corporate partners, sports academies, and even government bodies, Sportz Village continues to champion the power of sports in creating healthier and more connected communities.
Reflecting on the campaign, Majumdar said, “Our mission has always been to create champions in life. On this special occasion, we’re proud to introduce our largest campaign to date, which reinforces the role of sports in shaping lives.”
The ‘Champion ka Syllabus’ campaign was brought to life by Scarecrow M&C Saatchi’s team, with Co-founder Raghu Bhat explaining that the creative concept was designed to demonstrate the school’s crucial role in shaping champions. The film’s engaging visuals and insightful narration make it both inspiring and relatable.
Kapil Tammal, the National Creative Director at Scarecrow M&C Saatchi, shared his hopes for the campaign to inspire schools and students alike to embrace sports as more than just a hobby. “For India to make its mark on the world stage, including the Olympics, this journey must start early, within our schools. Sports, when pursued with the right dedication and support, can unlock the potential of every child,” Tammal emphasized.
The campaign was produced by Puppet Pictures, under the direction of Naren Multani. The creative team from Scarecrow M&C Saatchi includes Kunal Parkar, Kapil Tammal, Narendra Naik, and Shivani Sule, with post-production work handled by Splice Studioz.
As India looks ahead to future global sporting events, the ‘Champion ka Syllabus’ campaign serves as a timely reminder that nurturing talent starts in the classroom. This initiative promises to push the boundaries of traditional education by blending sports and academics to shape the champions of tomorrow.
