Sensodyne, a leading oral care brand under Haleon (formerly GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare), has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a GUINNESS WORLD RECORD™ for the highest number of online dental screenings conducted in a 24-hour period.
Held at Maha Kumbh 2025, this groundbreaking event saw an astounding 27,396 participants undergo dental screenings, marking a major milestone in Sensodyne’s mission to enhance oral health awareness across India.
Committed to making quality oral care more accessible, Sensodyne has also introduced an affordable ₹20 toothpaste pack, ensuring wider availability of sensitivity protection. By reaching thousands of individuals through innovative initiatives, the brand continues to emphasize the importance of proactive dental care.
This record-breaking achievement aligns with the launch of Sensodyne’s World Oral Health Day campaign, urging individuals to ‘Take the First Step’ toward improved dental hygiene. Over the past decade, Sensodyne has led the charge in educating consumers about tooth sensitivity, conducting nationwide “chill tests” to promote early intervention.
Kishlay Seth, Category Lead – Oral Health, Haleon India Subcontinent, highlighted the significance of this milestone:
“At Sensodyne, our goal is to inspire individuals to prioritize their oral health. Achieving a GUINNESS WORLD RECORD™ at Maha Kumbh 2025 is not just a numerical victory but a testament to our commitment to fostering better dental hygiene habits. We are carrying this momentum forward with a range of educational initiatives throughout World Oral Health Month, including free digital dental screenings.”
Dr. Ashok Dhoble, Hon. Secretary General of the Indian Dental Association, underscored the importance of early intervention:
“As advocates for preventive dental care, we are proud to collaborate with Sensodyne on this initiative. Raising awareness about oral health is crucial, and by leveraging education and accessibility, we can encourage more individuals to take control of their dental well-being.”
The dental screenings at Maha Kumbh were made possible with the support of 200+ promoters, in partnership with A Dental Friend and Smilo, and overseen by a team of 30+ IDA-member dentists. By integrating mobile technology, the initiative facilitated efficient and credible participation on a large scale.
As World Oral Health Day approaches on March 20, Sensodyne is amplifying its efforts with free digital dental screenings available to the public. By simply scanning a QR code, users can conduct an initial assessment of their oral health.
Additionally, Sensodyne is rolling out an extensive multimedia campaign featuring:
- Digital marketing & influencer collaborations
- Spotify integrations & mass media outreach (TV, radio, and print)
- Dental vans & corporate health camps across India
While digital screenings provide valuable insights, they do not replace professional dental consultations, and individuals are encouraged to seek expert guidance for a comprehensive evaluation.
With this initiative, Sensodyne continues to set new benchmarks in oral healthcare, reaffirming its commitment to making dental wellness accessible, informative, and impactful for millions across India.
