Zomato turned itself into the ultimate dating app for Valentine’s Day.

The food delivery platform has launched an innovative matchmaking service which offers users the golden chance to discover their ideal foodie partner, suggesting that a shared love of food might be the perfect recipe for a meaningful romantic connection.

How to find your match on Zomato?

  • On the homepage of the mobile app, tap on “Explore now” located under “Celebrate Valentine’s Week.”
  • Next, click on “Find a match”, which will redirect you to a page titled “Find a foodie match”.
  • Select your gender and preference before tapping on “Find a Match”
  • You will be taken to a page saying that you are matched with someone.

However, there’s a catch. The “matches” given by Zomato have human names, but actually represent food dishes instead. For example, Mala corresponds to Malai Chaap, Gul represents Gulaab Jamun, Raj is associated with Raj Kachori, and Urfi symbolizes Burfi, among many others.

That’s not all. On Valentine’s Day, Zomato took to Instagram to release a peppy rap song, “My Valentine is Yummy”, emphasizing how love can be found in food. “This Valentine, the only kiss I need is a saucy one, cause I’m a Burger Queen” they joked.

Furthermore, Zomato has also expanded beyond matchmaking by teaming up with Tinder, introducing the “Tinderlicious Collection” in several major Indian cities. This unique collection features a handpicked selection of restaurants perfect for romantic outings, enhancing everyone’s dining experience. The partnership aims to simplify the process of choosing an ideal spot for Tinder dates, utilizing Zomato’s proficiency in suggesting restaurants.
