My entrepreneurial journey was fueled by two key factors. First, I recognized the dearth of engaging narratives in PR, particularly in the early 2000s. I believed people craved authentic stories, not just traditional news formats. Second, I’ve always felt a deep sense of purpose in helping others. PR offered me an opportunity to leverage my skills and contribute to businesses’ success meaningfully. This led to the creation of The Other Circle (TOC) in 2013, a rebellion against the status quo that embraced out-of-the-box thinking and authentic storytelling.

TOC wasn’t just about starting a PR firm; it was about revolutionizing the industry. We aimed to redefine how businesses connect with their audiences and tell their stories. One of our key strategies has been to embrace a “fail fast, learn faster” approach. By experimenting and adapting quickly, we’ve been able to stay ahead of the curve. Additionally, we’ve always prioritized hiring talented individuals who are smarter and more skilled than ourselves. Trusting their judgment and empowering them to take ownership of their work has been instrumental to our success.

As a leader, I believe in providing direction and support while allowing my team to navigate and adapt to the market. We must always remember that fame is a double-edged sword, and fandom is very fickle, so keeping your celebrity in the news all the time is extremely important. PR plays a pivotal role in shaping a celebrity’s public image and online presence. We work closely with our clients to develop a story that resonates with their audience. By strategically managing their overall persona and responding to and being relevant with online conversations, we cultivate a positive and engaging online persona. This not only helps to attract a larger following but also opens doors to brand partnerships, endorsements, and several other worthwhile opportunities.

‘Follow Karlo Yaar’ is an interesting show that really shines a light on the behind-the-scenes dynamics of celebrity culture. As the only PR personality featured in a reality show, I see this as an incredible opportunity to demystify the industry and showcase the effort that goes into shaping a public persona.

A large part of the show required me to just go out there and do my job, so participating in this show felt like an extension of my everyday life too. I’m both honored and excited to be a part of it, as it allows viewers to gain insight into the processes that often remain hidden.

What especially stands out for me when it comes to the show is how a celebrity like Uorfi can openly discuss her journey as a celebrity, highlighting the complexities and realities that come with it. It’s not a perfect world, and this show really emphasizes that—there’s a lot of hard work and dedication involved. Ultimately, I hope audiences come away with a better understanding of what we bring to the table and appreciate the multifaceted nature of fame.

8. Does celebrity PR often lead to future strategic collaborations?
