This Women’s Day, Zuno Says: Embrace the Journey, just #BEYOU!

Mumbai, 10th March 2025: Zuno General Insurance, formerly known as Edelweiss General Insurance, a new-age digital insurer, is celebrating this Women’s Day by flipping the script on the traditional narratives of what it means to be a woman, with a simple yet powerful message through a unique campaign: #BEYOU.

At the heart of the campaign is a message of empowerment—encouraging women to embrace their unique selves as they are.

Our campaign celebrates the idea that women are not defined by the roles they juggle, or the expectations placed on them. Instead, it urges women to embrace their unique journeys, no matter where they are in life or how they choose to show up in the world.

“Women are born to multitask,” “She wears so many hats—boss, mom, caretaker,” and “Women don’t take breaks; they break barriers” are powerful statements. However, we invite women to explore a new perspective this year: What if being a woman came with just one rule? Do what feels right for YOU! It’s time to celebrate women simply for being themselves.

Whether you’re hustling hard to reach your goals or taking a moment to slow down, both are valid. Whether you’re steering the ship or simply enjoying the ride, both are valid. Whether you’re loud, bold, and taking up space, or quiet, reserved, and vibing with yourself, both are valid.

The message of empowerment doesn’t stop at individuality; true power also comes from education and financial independence. While achieving true gender parity may feel like a distant dream, there’s a lot of good news on the horizon. Women leadership rates are rising globally and in India. Companies are embracing career transparency initiatives, and the overall buzz around women’s empowerment is growing louder. Institutions are actively creating platforms for women to explore leadership and entrepreneurship—not only in startups and corporates but also in fields like science and technology.

At Zuno GI, this transformation is reflected in the growing number of women making financial decisions for themselves. From just 14.45% of women purchasing policies (including health and motor) in 2018, the figure rose to 28.47% in FY2023, 27.78% in FY2024, and 22.4% in FY2025, year-to-date. The increase in women purchasing insurance policies from Zuno GI is on par with industry standards, reflecting the overall trend.

The data also highlights the age distribution of female policyholders, with the 30-50 age group leading, followed by the 18-30 and 50-60 age groups, respectively. Delhi has the highest number of female policyholders, followed by Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Pune, Gurgaon, Vadodara, and Chennai. The average premium for these policies is Rs 9,376.13, with the minimum at Rs 100.05 and the maximum reaching Rs 1,271,186.11.

“At Zuno, we believe true empowerment comes from the freedom to define your own path, both personally and financially. The #BEYOU campaign encourages women to embrace their authenticity and reject societal pressure to conform to a single narrative. Financial independence is a key driver of empowerment, and the increasing number of women choosing to secure their financial future through insurance is a testament to their growing confidence and awareness. This Women’s Day, we celebrate the power of choice, individuality, and unapologetic self-expression,” said Ketan Mankikar, Vice President, Marketing and Communications.

Zuno General Insurance has collaborated with Studio TBH, a content studio, to launch the #BEYOU social media campaign on Women’s Day, which supports individuality, expression, and the power of being unapologetically yourself.

This Women’s Day let’s redefine what it means to be a woman. It’s not about living up to anyone else’s expectations. It’s about doing what feels right for you, unapologetically.

Through its #BEYOU campaign, Zuno General Insurance seeks to inspire women, encouraging them to embrace their unique paths without judgment or limitation.
