Accidental Emoji Typo Format Trends on Social Media
When an inventive new post format goes up on social media, everyone wants to get behind it. Brands often add their twist to these formats to make it relevant to their product and relatable to their audience.
While social distancing guidelines are in place and working from home is the new norm, we are texting one another a lot more than before. We often spam emojis to express an emotion strongly and every so often, the wrong emoji sneaks into the mix that usually ends up changing the tone completely. Holding on to this emotion, brands created interesting and relatable memes using accidental typos to show off their offerings. The format was trending with the hashtag #WhenYouAccidentallyType.
