The mushrooming SARS-Cov-2 pandemic has now spread across the world and people have realised that they need to be cautious and take preventive measures. The biggest obstacle to this, however, is the lack of education, the misfortune and hardships of unemployment, and the ever so rampant misinformation which could delude even the best of us.

In a time where fake news in the guise of WhatsApp and Facebook forwards are a major reason for the widespread panic and misinformation about the pandemic in the country, the Maharashtra government along with Rohit Shetty came up with a video in an attempt to educate the masses. They got many big names in Bollywood like Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Ayushman Khurrana, Madhuri Dixit, Alia Bhat and their ilk to speak up against the misinformation about the COVID-19 virus and its spread, along with listing a bunch of DOs and DON’Ts in order to stay safe. These celebrities are seen as heroes by some and have enormous reach across the country. People take their words with high regard, hence this video was not only significant in the war against the virus but also in the one against misinformation.
