TWITTER FINDS A NEW SOURCE OF INCOME FOR CREATORS THROUGH TICKETED SPACES FEATURE

In a new effort to help creators monetize their content, Twitter is in the process of launching their Twitter Spaces feature and has already begun previewing what users may anticipate when they host their first one. According to The Verge, users in the United States will be able to apply to host paid live audio rooms in the coming weeks. Anyone who wishes to charge must have 1,000 followers, three places hosted in the last 30 days, and be at least 18 years old.

Upon approval, the users may set up a ticked space as usual and plan the event for a future time by going through the spaces procedure. The developer may then pick several tickets for the area and establish a price. After ticketing expenses, creators will take home 80% of the ticket revenues. Twitter is partnering up with Stripe to manage payments and revenues. Additionally, creators would be requiring a Stripe account to gain access to the revenues.

A Twitter spokesman says early requests will be handled in a few weeks’ time if they are opened, and the team wants to start with a limited test group. While for now, only US users are capable of hosting these ticket spaces, anybody may buy access throughout the world. Spaces just began to host and give the opportunity to arrange an event to someone with more than 600 followers, and Twitter is also working on jointly organized spaces.
