Star cricketer Virat Kohli has reportedly split ways with longstanding sports marketing firm Cornerstone, owned by his old friend Bunty Sajdeh.
“…Kohli and Bunty have parted ways after a very long and successful partnership. Over the years, there are a lot of other cricketers who’ve parted ways with Cornerstone. Rohit, KL Rahul, Ajinkya, Shubman and others. But Virat and Cornerstone were inseparable. Now, that relationship is over too,” an industry source told CricketNext.
The specific reason for this parting has not been officially disclosed yet. However, according to sources, Kohli is reportedly ready to begin his own company that will manage his media deals intends to register it soon. If this is true, it marks a significant shift for Kohli, whose longstanding association with Cornerstone has made him synonymous with the marketing firm over the past decade.
This news of Kohli parting ways with Cornerstone and Bunty Sajdeh comes on the heels of the World Cup final last Sunday, where India faced a heartbreaking defeat against Australia. While unconfirmed and merely speculative, the coincidental timing of Kohli’s managerial change adds an interesting angle to his professional journey.
Cornerstone is one of the largest talent management firms in the world of sports and entertainment. It currently continues to be associated with star athletes of India, including Sania Mirza, PV Sindhu, Umesh Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Yash Dhull, etc.
