Bengaluru-based materials science manufacturing startup Whizzo has raised $4.2 million in a seed funding round led by Lightspeed, with additional backing from Beenext.
Founded in 2024 by Shrestha Kukreja, a former Zetwerk executive and IRMA gold medalist, Whizzo specializes in developing engineered and technical textiles. The company leverages woven, non-woven, and composite technologies to create innovative solutions across industries, including medtech, packtech, indutech, and clothtech.
With this fresh capital infusion, Whizzo plans to accelerate materials science research and development (R&D), establish a cutting-edge design lab focused on fashion-engineered textiles, and enhance its supply chain infrastructure across key manufacturing hubs such as India, Vietnam, China, Bangladesh, and Indonesia.
This funding round marks a significant milestone for Whizzo as it continues to push boundaries in technical textiles, catering to diverse industries with advanced material solutions.
