“Step into spring with new YouTube Shopping features.”
YouTube is introducing “Shopping Collections”, a brand-new feature that allows creators to curate products from their favorite brands – or their own line. With this, you can pick a selection of products for any them, ranging from everyday makeup looks to the ultimate capsule wardrobes.
“Collections will appear in a creator’s product list, Store tab, and video description. At launch, creators can make Collections on the Studio app on their phone, with the feature coming soon to desktop,” YouTube said.
YouTube is introducing a new Affiliate Hub within its app, which will provide artists with access to details on shopping partners, commission rates and other promotional coupons. Creators can also request samples from companies through the hub.
“The Affiliate Hub is making it easier for Shopping creators to find the information to start planning their next shoppable video,” YouTube wrote.
YouTube has also enhanced its existing features. Last year, they launched the ability for affiliate shopping creators to tag products across their videos in bulk based on what products creators have added to their descriptions. Now, they’re expanding this feature to all Shopping creators, so they can tag their own products and merch across their video library.
To further enhance their goal of simplifying the planning process for shoppable videos, YouTube will also expand its list of linked platforms to include Fourthwall, a website builder that lets users manage and create content right inside YouTube Studio itself. “We know that people come to YouTube every day to connect with the things and creators they love, so we hope these new YouTube Shopping features make that journey even easier for creators and viewers,” they wrote.
